寝る前である。本来なら、もう食べない時間である。歯も磨くかもしれない。布団に入る時間かもしれない。

それなのに、パパはお腹が空いてしまう。

子どもから見れば、それは不思議である。

なんで。どうして。もう寝るのに。さっき食べたのに。パパなのに。

ここには、小さな倫理がある。

大人は、子どもに言う。もう寝なさい。ごはんをちゃんと食べなさい。お菓子ばかり食べてはいけません。生活リズムを守りなさい。

でも、大人自身は意外と守れていない。

夜にお腹が空く。スマホを見る。眠いのに起きている。疲れているのに無理をする。自分で決めたルールを、自分で少し破る。

子どもは、それをちゃんと見ている。

「なんで寝る前にお腹空いちゃう」

この一文には、責めと疑問が同時に入っている。

怒っている。でも、知りたい。責めている。でも、世界の仕組みを確認している。

大人は完璧ではない。パパも寝る前にお腹が空く。
