"The Folklore of Generated Things" is an experimental archive that observes AI-generated images, screenshots, strange artifacts, synthetic media, and cultural fragments found in public digital spaces — not only as outputs of technology, but as cultural traces.
「生成される民俗学」は、公開されたデジタル空間で見つかるAI生成画像、スクリーンショット、奇妙な断片、合成メディア、文化的な欠片を、技術の出力だけでなく、文化の痕跡として観測する実験的アーカイブである。
The purpose is not to judge whether they are good or bad, but to observe how they appear, circulate, mutate, and become part of everyday digital life. This project treats generated things as contemporary folklore.
良し悪しを裁くのではない。どのように現れ、流通し、変異し、日常のデジタル生活の一部になるかを観測する。生成物を、当代の民俗として扱う。
What we observe
観測の範囲
The archive observes not only AI-generated works themselves, but also human reactions to generative AI, refusals and No-AI declarations, craft and handmade boundary disputes, ethics memes, AI-assisted writing, synthetic beauty, ritual failures, and everyday testimony in schools, labor, art, and domestic life.
AI生成物そのものだけでなく、生成AIへの反応、拒否やNo-AI宣言、手工芸の境界争い、倫理ミーム、AI支援の文章、合成的美、儀式の失敗、学校・労働・芸術・家庭における日常の証言も観測する。
What this is not

Not a social media feed, influencer site, or viral content gallery.

Not Pinterest, Instagram, Product Hunt, a Web3/NFT gallery, or an AI prompt showcase.

Closer to folklore fieldwork, cultural anthropology, a small archive, an observation notebook, or a museum storage room.

How we publish
公開のしかた
By default we do not rehost images or media. Observations are link-only unless explicitly permitted. The UI is meant to slow the reader down — to invite observation, not consumption. Candidates are reviewed in a quiet inbox before they enter the public archive.
原則として画像やメディアを再ホストしない。明示的な許可がない限り、観測はリンクのみである。読者の速度を落とし、消費ではなく観測を招くUIを目指す。候補は静かなインボックスで見たあと、公開アーカイブへ移る。
