On Threads, an exchange between a first-year high school son and his mother circulated.

The mother says: get in the bath already.

The son replies: it is at a good part right now.

So far, ordinary family talk.

The question is what the good part was.

What he was watching was Anpanman.

First year of high school. Quite tall by now. Voice perhaps lower. An age that may answer parents with mild annoyance.

Yet you cannot miss the good part of Anpanman.

In replies, someone says: probably the part where Anpanman gets a new face!!

The poster answers: that is the highlight.

Someone else says: if it is Anpanman… cannot interrupt.

In the end the son apparently watched to the end, then went to bathe.

Not only a funny story — a little good.

Children do not suddenly become adults.

Even in middle school, even in high school, even as they grow taller, even as they turn a bit rebellious — somewhere, childhood time remains.

The body that watched Anpanman. The time waiting for a new face to fly in. Baikinman appears, trouble, rescue — that story shape surprisingly stays.

For the mother, it is bath time. For the son, it is a scene he cannot leave now.

The household schedule and the story climax collide.

The moment everyone learns the collision involves Anpanman, the world softens a little.

A high schooler watching Anpanman — and that is why it works.

Threadsで、高1の息子と母のやり取りが流れてきた。

母が言う。「はよ風呂入って」

息子は返す。「今いいとこやねん」

ここまでは、よくある家庭の会話である。

問題は、その「いいとこ」が何だったかだ。

息子が観ていたのは、アンパンマンだった。

高校1年生。もうかなり大きい。声も低くなっているかもしれない。親に対して少し面倒くさそうに返す年齢かもしれない。

でも、アンパンマンのいいところは見逃せない。

リプライでは、誰かが言う。「きっと『アンパンマン新しい顔よ!!』のとこやろな」

投稿者は返す。「見どころですね」

別の人は言う。「アンパンマンなら…邪魔できねぇな」

そして結局、息子は最後まで観てからお風呂へ行ったらしい。

これは、ただの笑い話だけれど、少しよい。

子どもは、急に大人になるわけではない。

中学生になっても、高校生になっても、身長が伸びても、反抗期っぽくなっても、どこかに小さいころの時間が残っている。

アンパンマンを観ていたころの身体。新しい顔が飛んでくるのを待っていた時間。ばいきんまんが出てきて、困って、助けに来る流れ。

そういう物語の型は、案外ずっと残る。

母にとっては、風呂に入る時間である。でも息子にとっては、いま離れるわけにはいかない場面である。

家庭の予定と、物語のクライマックスが衝突している。

そして、その衝突がアンパンマンだとわかった瞬間、少しだけ世界がやわらかくなる。

高校生なのにアンパンマン。でも、だからいい。
