A satirical Onion image circulated on Bluesky — obituary form: photo, name, death notice prose. Diana Yanko, 61, died Tuesday after an AI incorrectly filed her charts, another AI denied her claim, and a third AI turned off her life support.

Satire — yet hard to laugh. These AIs do not run amok, hate humans, or seek domination. Each does its assigned task: classify charts, review claims, control devices. Individually bureaucracy; connected, a person dies.

What frightens is not AI but no one seeing the whole. Medical, insurance, admin, device control — separate systems, separate objective functions: process fast, prevent fraud, cut cost, reduce risk, standardize procedure. A human body lands inside the workflow.

When something goes wrong: not my department; system decision; per policy; automated; under review. Responsibility vanishes. Bureaucracy always had this coldness — wrong window, missing papers, different division, staff absent, under review. AI may not remove it; may make it faster, smoother, harder to see. Humans processed, not only made to wait.

Stings because it feels slightly begun, not distant SF — not AI kills humans but AI-organized institutions stop seeing humans.

風刺である。でも笑えない。AIは暴走していない。憎んでも支配しようともしていない。それぞれが担当業務——カルテ分類、請求審査、装置制御。ひとつひとつは業務。接続されると、人が死ぬ。

本当に怖いのはAIではない。誰も全体を見ていないこと。医療、保険、事務、機器制御——別々のシステム、別々の目的関数。速く、不正防止、コスト削減、リスク低減、標準化。その結果、人間の身体がワークフローの中に置かれる。

何かが起きたとき——私は担当ではありません。システムの判断です。規約に基づいています。自動処理です。責任は消える。昔から官僚制には窓口違い、書類不足、審査中があった。AIはそれをなくすのではなく、見えにくく、速く、滑らかにするかもしれない。人間が待たされるのではなく、処理される。

未来のSFではなく、すでに少し始まっている感じがあるから刺さる。AIが人間を殺す、というより、AIを組み込んだ組織が人間を見なくなる。
