On X, a new acronym for giant tech companies circulated. GAFA. GAFAM. FAANG. And newly: MANGOS — Meta, Anthropic, NVIDIA, Google, OpenAI, SpaceX. Lined up, it does feel like the present air: social graphs, foundation models, GPUs, search, generative AI, space.

2010s big tech mainly ruled inside the screen — search, buy, post, watch, use a phone. MANGOS is slightly different. Not apps alone: AI models, semiconductors, cloud, space transport, society's compute resources themselves. Less a bundle of convenient service companies than a bundle of infrastructure that seems to move the future.

What is interesting is that weight wrapped in the light sound of MANGOS. Mangos — cute, fruity, a little joking. Yet inside: companies that organize world information, learn world conversation, support world computation, touch movement and space. As GAFA once named internet-era power in one word, MANGOS crudely yet oddly accurately bundles AI-era power.

This is not formal classification, economic indicator, or settled investment term. Yet such words appear first. Memes name before institutions. Social feeds draw maps before white papers. A new world order is first called by a fruit name.

並べると、たしかに今の空気がある。SNS。基盤モデル。GPU。検索。生成AI。宇宙。2010年代の巨大テックは、主に「画面の中」を支配していた。検索する。買う。投稿する。動画を見る。スマホを使う。でも、MANGOSになると少し違う。

ここにあるのは、アプリだけではない。AIモデルがある。半導体がある。クラウドがある。宇宙輸送がある。社会の計算資源そのものがある。つまり、これは「便利なサービス企業」の束ではなく、未来を動かす基盤の束に見える。

面白いのは、その重さが「MANGOS」という軽い語感に包まれていることだ。マンゴス。かわいい。果物っぽい。少しふざけている。でも、その中身はかなり重い。世界の情報を整理する会社。世界の会話を学習する会社。世界の計算を支える会社。世界の移動や宇宙まで触り始める会社。

GAFAという言葉が、かつてインターネット時代の権力を一言で表したように、MANGOSは、AI時代の権力を雑に、しかし妙に正確に束ねている。もちろん、これは正式な分類ではない。経済指標でもない。投資用語として定着するかもわからない。でも、こういう言葉が先に出てくる。制度より先に、ミームが名前をつける。白書より先に、SNSが地図を描く。新しい世界秩序は、まず果物の名前で呼ばれる。
