On Threads, a parent post circulated — a call from middle school, not trouble. About a first-year second son. Sports-day discussion: a classmate with developmental disability rarely attends but wants to join. Relay teams were already set; everyone wants to win; no one would add him; he looked downcast.
The second son, listening, stood. Then put me and him on some team — he runs, I want to run after him; I'll pass everyone. That line stays.
No clean morality here — not let's all get along, not diversity respect, not reasonable accommodation in textbook form. First-year boy rough justice: I'll run, I'll overtake, I'll handle it. The I'll is slightly reckless, slightly dazzling — and opens the room.
Adults would weigh consent, fairness, winning, guardians, teachers, class agreement. All matter — yet here body moved before policy. Not add him for his sake but I'll go too; not support but same team; not accommodate but run behind.
Not for that kid but because I'll run too — the field opens that way. Parent writes they don't know if rebellious first-year thinking is correct; nearby parents want to greet them. Correctness unclear — yet sometimes someone steps out before correctness.
Inside sports-day relay, a small institution, one student had become hard to enter; another offered his legs. I'll run after him — not support speech but participation speech.

Threadsで、中学校から電話が来たという投稿が流れてきた。やらかしたのかと思ったら違った——中1次男について、先生と話したいことがある。
体育祭の話し合い。発達障害のある子がほとんど登校していないが、体育祭には参加したい。リレーのチームは決まっている。みんな勝ちたい。誰もその子を入れない。その子は曇った顔。
話を聞いていた次男が立ち上がった——だったら、俺と○○と2人どっかのチーム入れてくれん?○○が走って、俺がその後走りたい。俺が全部抜いて走ってやる。
きれいな道徳はない。「みんな仲良く」でも「多様性尊重」でも「合理的配慮」でもない。中1男子の少し乱暴な正義——俺が走る、俺が抜く、俺がなんとかする。その「俺が」が危うくて眩しい。
誰かを入れてあげるのではなく、自分も一緒に入る。支援ではなく同じチーム。配慮ではなく後ろを走る。「その子のために」ではなく「俺も走るから」で場が開く。
正解かどうかはわからない。でもときどき正解より先に、誰かが一歩出る。体育祭の小さな制度の中で、ひとりが入りにくくなっていた。別の生徒が自分の足を差し出した。俺がその後走りたい——支援の言葉ではなく、参加の言葉。
