Dear Warlords

On Threads, a story about an internal email typo circulated.

The sender had meant to write: Dear Department Heads. But the message that went out said: Dear Warlords.

One character different — and the company's scenery changes. Managers cease to be managers. They become warlords at once. The meeting room becomes a council chamber. The all-hands becomes a war council. Replies are no longer business updates but battle orders.

And colleagues join in properly. Come out and fight! I am at war.

What matters here is not the mistake itself but how those around it responded. Typos happen to everyone. A wrong addressee on an internal email is a little embarrassing. Normally the sender panics. Recipients might brush it off or offer a slightly cold correction.
