On TikTok, a post circulates with a caption that AI is getting so realistic it is starting to feel scary. Tags point to AI video and Kling AI. The platform marks the clip as containing AI-generated media. The observatory does not rehost the video or screenshot — the folklore is in the reaction.
Synthetic realism here is not evaluated as craft alone. The poster names a threshold: believability has crossed from impressive to unsettling. Too real, too smooth, too close to ordinary media — fear arrives before aesthetics finishes its sentence.
