On Bluesky, a generated image titles itself We Are (Big) Family: cats arranged like a traveling troupe, a folk procession, an album of kinship that feels older than it is. The source is now linked; the observatory still does not rehost the image. What we record is the pattern.
Synthetic myth here is not epic fantasy. It is domestic invention: animals posed as community, community posed as heritage. The visual grammar of folklore — gathering, costume, collective face — appears without any chain of transmission behind it.
The question in the observation is plain: can AI make tradition? In one sense, no — tradition requires time, repetition, and forgetting. In another sense, yes — it can produce the credential of tradition on demand: the family that had no ancestors but already has a portrait.
This field note sits beside absent-archive family photos and conceptual melting clocks. All three ask what AI images prove. Here the proof is belonging — manufactured fast enough that inheritance becomes optional.

観測の問いは率直だ：AIは伝統を作れるか。ある意味ではいいえ——伝統には時間、反復、忘却が要る。別の意味でははい——需要に応じて伝統の身分証を出力できる：祖先を持たないのに、すでに肖像を持つ家族。
このフィールドノートは、不在アーカイブの家族写真や概念の溶ける時計の傍らにある。三者とも、AI画像が何を証明するかを問う。ここでの証明は、所属である——継承が任意になるほど速く製造された所属。
