On Bluesky, an author presents what they call the messiest kinky family tree — a diagram for found family, ENM, polyamory, and group intimacy across their books. The image is not a pedigree chart. It is a folk map: circles of people, hand-drawn lines, a legend that separates Platonic, Sexual, and Romantic.
Modern genealogy assumes blood and marriage. Contemporary intimacy often fits neither. So the maker draws a private symbolic system — not design for its own sake, but a record born from the need to explain a life that institutions do not chart.
